I recently had the pleasure to read the two books in Robin Lee Hatcher’s Where the Heart Lives series. As I’m sure you figured out, I love to read. I especially love to read a good book that allows me to escape. Belonging and Betrayal, the two books in the Where the Heart Lives series, didn’t disappoint me. Robin Lee Hatcher has won several awards for her writing and the stories are always well written. In keeping with great books that allow us to escape, there were few twists and turns. The romances and family story lines were fairly predictable. But once in a while, that’s a great quality in a book! For me, that allows me to relax and settle in to the story.
In Belonging, Julia Grace realizes she must make a very difficult decision after her husband dies. She must marry again to keep her ranch. An unexpected visitor appears at the ranch and they realize they have more in common than they first thought.
In Betrayal, Felicia Kristoffersen sets out to be a (single) schoolteacher in the dusty town of Frenchman’s Bluff, Idaho. She comes to love her students, while fighting resistance from some of the families in the area. As you’d expect, she falls in love and the two weather the storms of life.
Both stories take place at the turn of the twentieth century in the beautiful west. The visual imagery is fantastic and makes me long to visit. Belonging is available for $11.24 or Kindle $6.64; Betrayal is available for $10.19 or Kindle $8.00. Better yet, we have a chance to win a free copy of EACH book – being offered as a set!
