Do you ever wonder what the latest holiday toy craze will be? My guess is Mattel’s newest Fijit Friends Newbies. They are tiny plasticy rubbery toys that fit into the palm of a child’s hand. It is something your child can physically play with, but it also can connect them to the online world.
The Fijit Friends talk, sing, dance, chirp and flap their ears (that’s my favorite part). The Fijit Friend will engage your child to chat with them. They can tell jokes and ask questions. When you go online the Friend can also take ques from the website. As a mom, it’s quite intriguing. As a computer teacher I love a way to get our kids to safe sites on the internet.
The first time your child uses their Fijit Friend it can be a little confusing. I highly recommend ready the Help section on their website before taking it out of the box. They even have handy-dandy cheat sheets that you can print and reference at any time.
I love the small size so it makes for easy travel (even though the constant sound isn’t that appealing on long drives…to me at least). I have found it difficult for my 5 year old to squeeze the sides of her Fijit Friend Newbie by herself – but then again it is recommended for children 6 and up.
Fijit Friend Newbies come in a multitude of colors and ear designs. There are even seasonal ones like Trick or Treat Trika (that has bat ears) and Winter Cheer Zinzie (with holly ears). Each of your friends come with their own name…check out the latest craze today!
