Early morning flights. Late night arrivals. Honeymoons, business meetings, vacations or stay-cations; the Hyatt Regency at the Orlando International Airport is the place to be.
Our flight was departing at 6am and we live over an hour away from the airport. We started searching for hotels and found one smack dab in the middle of the Orlando International Airport. Convenient. Reservations were made and I received a reminder via email for my upcoming stay and the day of I received the option to check in online. Convenient. When we arrived at the hotel we quickly found the covered parking which is offered at a reduced rate during your hotel stay and made our way inside. The glass elevator set the tone for what we were about to experience. The lobby was illuminated with gorgeous chandeliers and a spectacular airport view was the backdrop. The check-in process was swift and the customer service was friendly. Bell-hop service was offered, but since we had light luggage we declined.
The elevator allows for room key access only above the lobby level which gave me a sense of security. When we walked into our suite I was blown away. The VIP suite is a 2 bedroom unit with a parlor in between. Breathtaking views of the runway lined the walls and allowed for balcony access. There were little details everywhere that greatly impressed me. We (contributor to my site, Lisa, and her husband are joining us on the venture to New York…along with my husband). We were welcomed with bottles of wine, water and specially made dessert from the chef. A special dessert with apricot whip cream was definitely a sweet and tasty treat.
As I mentioned this was a 2 bedroom suite. Each bedroom has it’s own outside entrance and separate bathrooms. One bedroom has a king size bed, while the other had two queen size beds. Large flat screen TV, runways views, desk and a sitting chair were in each room. I felt the rooms were larger than normal which allowed for comfortable quarters. There is a full-size closet that lights up when the doors open which contains a robe, hangers, iron and board as well as additional linens.
Now onto the bathrooms. Wow is what comes to mind. We had full size shower/bath combo with a rain shower head. A chrome shower caddy allowed for easy storage of our bath products. Of course if you forgot yours you were in luck because the bathroom was stocked with bath products, including a travel size toothpaste and even cotton balls and q-tips. Under the sink cubbies held a personal size coffee pot, coffee and fixings, blow dryer and more. Each bathroom also had a lighted free-standing mirror which I knew my mother-in-law would love. I was grateful to have a hook to hang my ditty bag from so all my products were easy to access.
The parlor was located in between the two bedrooms. This room also had a separate outside entry as well as a full size bathroom. The room had beautiful purple couches (I know purple sounds out of the norm – but I would definitely have these in our home. And they were comfortable! They had a raised texture that I added a little something extra to them. An over-sized LCD TV and a Bose stereo system made my husband’s day. There was a large family-sized dining room table and a granite bar adjacent. To feed your guests you can order 24 hour room service or prepare something in your private kitchen. The kitchen also has a separate outside entrance. An LG full-size refrigerator (including pull out drawer freezer), wine cooler, coffee maker, toaster oven and stocked with dishes.
I can definitely see the rooms at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport used for a bridal party preparing for the big day. A family reunion. Or a simple stay-cation. The airport below can provide hours of entertainment with shopping experiences you would find at your local mall. If you don’t want to shop you can people watch from the many seating areas or just walk enjoy the beautiful pieces of art and water fountains.
Going to bed last night (in a very comfortable bed) knowing that I could just walk out the door and I’m where I need to be provided for a peaceful nights sleep. (Not to mention the awesome ceiling fan in our room…excellent touch Hyatt!). I highly recommend this hotel the next time your travels bring you to Orlando or if you are a Central Florida resident looking for a local vacation spot.
