Summer in Florida is time for the beach and pool with the kids. It is really the only way to beat the hot weather and this summer it seems even hotter than usual. Every year I try to add a couple more beach toys to what we already have. I was so excited to try out the new Melissa & Doug toys as we have many of their indoor toys so I was sure they wouldn’t disappoint. There is nothing more fun for kids then playing in the sand. As a mom I love to sit in the sun and watch the kids have a blast in the sand and water.
I also love beach toys that allow my kids to use their imaginations and that are just what the sand baking set had them do. My girls spent hours baking different cakes with shells and seaweed as a pretty decoration on top. They had a blast cooking for one another. The cookie baking set was great so they could each have a little fun making food and sea creature cookies. My little cooks loved the serving bowl and octopus whisk. The Nesting Pails were great for the kids to carry the water back and forth from the beach to work on their creations. They were also great for stacking and help making sand castles. The pails also added a little education by having numbers and spelling of numbers on each one.
At the end of the day, having the octopus beach tote to load all the sand toys into was perfect. It held all we brought and had a mesh bottom allowing the water and sand to drain out before I got to the car. The bag was not only bright and adorable it had lots of room and very sturdy handles for lots of trips to the beach.
