The Christian Mama’s Guide to Having a Baby

I was sent what looked to be a great book written by Erin MacPherson. Thankfully I have quite a few friends that are expecting so here is one of their views on the book:

The Christian Mama’s Guide to Having a Baby

A very enjoyable read! It was refreshing to read a humorous approach to pregnancy and what to expect that wasn’t distasteful or off-color. The author has two children and used her own experiences and knowledge along with information from her “mommy girlfriends” to give the reader a well-rounded idea of many things pregnancy related. This book doesn’t read like most pregnancy guides which, in my opinion, are doctor-like and/or telling of things you should or need to do to have a healthy pregnancy. It focuses on the human factor of sometimes trusting your instincts and trusting God. She also quotes scripture and reminds us that God is in control even with all the uncertainty and trials of pregnancy.
Also, I could use this book as a reference for healthy snacks to eat, essential baby items, the most useful maternity clothes, stay-at-home-mom job ideas, list of items to pack for labor & delivery at the hospital and many other helpful hints. This was an easy read with just the right amount of humor and useful information.
